The international skating union has decided to raise the minimum age for competitors in senior figure skating events, from 15 to 17 years old. Union means the action of joining together or the fact of being joined together, especially in a political context.The ISU decided to increase the minimum age to help protect skaters, physical and mental well being. People skate because they are talented, some have good feet and they are strong. Over 100 countries backed the change with only 16 countries voting against it.
