The international skating union has decided to raise the minimum age for competitors in senior figure skating events, from 15 to 17 years old. Union means the action of joining together or the fact of being joined together, especially in a political context.The ISU decided to increase the minimum age to help protect skaters, physical and mental well being. People skate because they are talented, some have good feet and they are strong. Over 100 countries backed the change with only 16 countries voting against it. Kids can start skating lessons as early as 3, but keep in mind that your 3 year old may not be ready to be away from you or they have attention for 20 to 30 minute lessons. Peggy Fleming has a talent: her talent is ice skating, Peggy gale Fleming is an American former figure skater and the only American in the 1968 winter olympics in Grenoble. Peggy Fleming was born in 1948 the 27th of July, her parents are Doris Elizabeth Fleming and Albert Eugene Fleming. She is 73 years old, Peggy retired in 1968, Peggy won a gold metal performance at the 1968 Olympic game. In 1968 Grenoble Winter Games and Peggy Fleming won the United states’ only Olympic gold competition. I will be telling you some of the top female ice skaters of all time there is Sonja Henie, Katarina Witt, Carol Heies, Michelle Kwan and last but not least Peggy Fleming.
